Calvin's 5th Birthday!

Cal turned 5 on Monday! 

Papa flew into town for the weekend so we celebrated with him (and Gram on FaceTime) Sunday evening. 

Cal was thrilled about his superheros! 

He requested waffles for Sunday dinner.

For his birthday morning Daddy and Papa had picked up Rolling pin donuts!

Cal got a tiger tail in the shape of a "C"

Elle had actually thrown up earlier in the morning so stayed home from school which was actually really nice cause she immediately felt better and played fabulously with the boys all morning! Cal had school at noon which was a special treat since we've never had a kid with school on their birthday before. Cal brought in rice krispy treats to share with all his school friends. 

In the evening Boppi, Grandpa Al, Terry and Beede families  all joined us for Cal's birthday dinner of BBQ hot dogs, mac-n-chesse, baked beans, and veggies.

Then his special dessert which was a last minute request after Cal informed me that cake hurts his tummy! I was happy not to have to make a cake! 

Then present opening! We got Cal a spiderman umbrella, flip flops, goggles, and an educational, dry erase learning book to help prepare him for kindergarten! He got a cool bug sucker/catcher from Boppi and Grandpa Al, as awesome pirate sticker book from the Terry's, and a Clifford the Dog goes to Kindergarten nook from Aunt Corinne and Bailey. He was a sweet boy and very gracious about his gifts - making sure to say thank you and give hugs.

Cal has grown-up so much this past year. Sometimes it surprises me how responsible he's becoming - like when I go into check on him at night and see that he's layed out his clothes for the next day. he comes out most mornings dressed and ready for the day with his room clean and organized. And he's become a champ at making his bed. It's bittersweet all the things he does by himself now - I'm so impressed while also sad when he tells me he doesn't need my help. Cal is such a good boy - very kind, thoughtful, obedient, tender - hearted, always willing to help, loves to please, easy to motivate, and excited to learn. I hope he stays this sweet forever!!Happy Birthday Cal! We love you!!!
