Cal at 15 months

This past month wasn't the greatest for Cal. There was lots of crying, whining and freak outs- I think mostly due to molars coming in. He's now got a whopping 11 teeth with his last molar (bottom left) that just broke through!

At the beginning of the month Cal developed a sense of ownership and would totally flip out when his sisters would try to take (or even just touch) his blanket or monkey.

Another new thing this month was dealing with separation anxiety. I was pretty confident that Cal wouldn't go through the "I need my mom every second" stage, but that's where we're at and it's been super annoying and hard to get anything done. Cal will be playing happily in one room with the girls and I, but then I walk into the next room to get something and he immediately starts crying and runs to find me. The worst is when I'm multitasking because he can't seem to follow me around fast enough and just becomes a blubbery, crying mess! Trying to take a shower is pretty bad too. He can't handle when I get into the shower. Many times he's gotten one of the girls to open the bathroom door, then he'll slide open the shower door, step in, and stand sobbing at my feet all while getting completely soaked.

But when he's got my undivided attention he's a complete dream! He loves to hide around the corner then peak out and say "Boo!" He laughs and laughs at the little things I say or do. The other day I went to change his stinky diaper and noticed sticky stuff on the bottom of his feet. With a disgusted look I said, "Eeeewww" and he instantly busted up laughing. I spent the next hour saying "Eewww" just to listen to his uncontrollable laughter.

Everywhere we go I've got Cal attached to my hip. I do love how he snuggles in when he gets shy or embarrassed.

Cal's a total boy and is completely obsessed with trucks and trains. We joined the zoo this past week and there was a bunch of construction going on. Cal was in heaven!

He's super friendly to other kids and always seems to make new little friends everywhere we go.

His new words this month were: "cacker" (cracker), "bubble", "hi" (which he walks around and says to everyone he meets), "eyes" and "train" (he'll ask Spencer or I to read his favorite train book to him several times a day) which he usually calls a "choo choo." He's now up to about 15 words he uses on a regular basis.

Cal's favorite treat is hands down raisins. . .

or the next best alternative - crasins!

I am constantly finding him in the pantry sneaking one or the other.

He's become a bit pickier this month with food which has been frustrating. Part of me feels responsible for not cooking a larger variety of foods for him to try. Gotta work on that.

Calvin is currently in the process of going down to one nap. Since he's wasn't feeling great the majority of the month, we stuck to 2 naps, but now I'm trying to push it to laying down at 10am, sleeping till noon (or a little after), then bed by 7pm. When he only gets the one nap he'll almost always sleep till 7am.

Love this little boy so much! I love how he looks at me and gives air kisses. I loves how when I'm sitting on the floor he'll back up to sit into my lap. I love when he finally finds me after running around the house crying - he puts his arms in the air and runs in for a big hug. He really is such a sweet little guy. Couldn't imagine our life without him.
